Ctrack South Africa has three internal divisions which are integrated to provide value-added solutions for every vehicle owner. This business is the main driver of annuity-based revenue streams within the group.
The Secure division markets, sells, implements and supports the Ctrack stolen vehicle recovery range of products. The industry is driven by vehicle sales and influenced by the insurance industry, mainly due to the increase in criminal activity. The decrease in vehicle sales and the introduction of the National Credit Act have placed much pressure on this market. Despite these factors, aggressive marketing and sales strategies have improved brand awareness and supported constant growth in the Secure division. Over the last year, this division increased sales by 71%.
The innovative benefits of the Ctrack Secure range of products have elevated it above what is generally considered a ‘grudge purchase’ in the market. Ctrack products offer interaction via cellphone or internet at high security levels, and information obtained enhances the security of individuals rather than just the vehicle. The high-technology GPS (global positioning system) and GSM Ctrack products offer system automation that eliminates the inconvenience of maintaining an operative tracking unit. As technology has improved and become cheaper, Ctrack products offer more value at competitive pricing. An independent survey in South Africa shows that Ctrack has the highest recovery rate at over 90% (as reported by Beeld, Saturday 10 May 2008).
A new Ctrack InsureTM product with a lower entry-level price and added-value benefits was launched in October 2008. This exciting product will give the company another advantage in this competitive industry which is expected to triple current unit sales.
The Support Centre division supports the full range of Ctrack products by offering customers comprehensive off-site integrated bureau services to assist with exception reporting to improve high-level fleet management. This division also manages the processes that constantly enhance our recovery-rate statistics to the highest (independently surveyed) in the stolen vehicle recovery industry.

The Cellular division manages the GSM data and voice lines provided to customers using the Ctrack range of products across all industries. These value-added services offer material benefits to customers in saving uncontrolled variable costs, as reflected in the high rate of conversion to this service and concomitant growth in annuity income from this division.
